Software Test: Panda Cloud Antivirus

We found ourselves in an unusual situation when writing this article. In parallel with typing the last characters, a new release of Panda Cloud, which is still in beta, has been completed. The installer isn't there yet, but the program has undergone some updates, so we're back in front of the computer.

We hardly know about Panda! The developers did not introduce it with minor refinements, but completely redesigned the user interface. On the other hand, the modern, extremely simplified tiled surface can be a double-edged sword, as on the one hand it fits perfectly into the new robe of Windows 8, and on the other hand, it inevitably raises our concerns - nowadays Microsoft is also fond of the system. In any case, we think the new look is nice, if we didn't know, we could easily believe that it was already Microsoft Security Essentials 5.0.

The guideline, of course, accompanies the program throughout, so the settings and individual protections also omit curved shapes. We are pleased to see that the interface is editable, we can move widgets from one screen to another as desired. With so few items, we don’t see much benefit from this, but it was a pleasant surprise.

In line with the expectations of the age, a new protection has also been introduced that monitors Wi-Fi networks. It displays all the devices that are connected to the network, thus disguising unauthorized users - simply put, knocking down anyone who steals our wireless internet. Because all protections are active in the beta, we can't say whether the free version will receive the upgrade.

Like all new versions, it provides more effective virus protection and better performance (six). We also noticed two new options that we enjoyed like Panda on the bamboo leaf. The first is a scheduled scan, and the second allows the computer to shut down automatically after a virus scan. Remarkable from filling in gaps, you can sit down!

As a prelude to this (the official announcement does not mention more), the beta release has proven to be stable during short use, but for the time being we would warn everyone - obviously not the testers - about its daily use.
