Introducing: Silverstone ML06 - HTPC for the discerning

Nowadays, the HTPC construction fever seems to be easing somewhat, perhaps one reason being that more and more companies are launching tiny PCs that are powerful enough to play multimedia files, but there is no need to mess with the construction. It should be noted, however, that these tiny machines can be considered more of a target hardware, it is not easy for them, in many cases it is completely impossible to expand, to increase the force.

Because of this, those who not only want to go online, watch a movie, but also occasionally play games are forced to build or have a larger machine built. Fortunately, many manufacturers offer a Mini-ITX motherboard that can be a suitable base for such a machine.

We’ve covered the topic well in our previous articles on HTPC construction, but repetition never hurts. Choosing a computer case is the first and arguably easiest operation. At least that’s what we can think of until it turns out that the hardware we’re looking at, like a video card, just won’t fit in the house. Cooling will be such a cardinal issue. Processor cooling should be a good choice for showy, yet small houses, because larger, stronger pieces will not fit. For this reason, the selection of the processor is also an important moment, as we cannot buy a procit that cannot be cooled properly by the radiator in the house.

With the SilverStone case presented in this article, all of these aspects are important, as it is a whole small solution. Unfortunately, in most cases, the living room next to or under the TV will not fit a full-size motherboard, video card housing, so anyone looking to build the most powerful machine possible can do a lot of research before finding the right components for their machine.
