Kerio Winroute Firewall - security and control in one package

As we read in our previous Kerio article, the banking - and then the real economy - crisis has caused a major upheaval for most players in the economy. The decline in turnover, the lack of revenue, the increasing number of bankruptcies all indicated that if we wanted to survive, it was not enough to pull our necks in, we had to review our business to see how we could reduce our costs, increase our productivity - or just reduce it sensibly.

There are many ways to reduce costs. For example, we can move to a smaller office, we can fire employees, we can take company cars and phones, in Hungarian we can pull a good deal on our pants. Okay, we’ve reduced costs with these, which is good, but with steps like this, we’re also making a mistake. We are making the serious mistake of not thinking about the post-crisis times and of dismantling an otherwise well-functioning, productive business that will take years to build and then rebuild.

So the first panic reactions tend to be these steps instead of company managers starting to think about how they can optimize their tangible assets, how they can keep employees on a more optimal schedule, and how much they can save. In this previous Kerio article, we recommended Kerio Mail Server for this task, which allows us to work with more efficient resource allocation while retaining fewer physical assets. In other words, fewer tangible assets can be enough for the same number of people, all you have to do is use them reasonably.

Then now comes the legitimate question! It’s okay that Kerio Mail Server can make our work more efficient, but how does that come with a firewall article? Maybe no one will be surprised to say it simply. Kerio Winroute Firewall is also capable of what the Mail server does, which is to optimize our resources. True, in this case we will not be working on the schedule of the company car, but will take care of our existing internet bandwidth. Let's see how!
