LG HB965TZ and HB45E: Christmas Blu-ray home cinema with LG
Our second delicacy is a complete home theater system with a similarly extra knowledge base, but this product strengthens the 2.1 offering. Yet it can’t be framed as “just as smoothly” for a 2.1 system. Why? In terms of total power, the 400 W system consists of a conventional (otherwise very powerful, 150 W, passive) subwoofer and two front speakers - each capable of 125 W - although this is called a classic 2.1 lineup. The LG however, he used a trick to achieve surround sound with 3 speakers.
It tries to do this by having the two front speakers somewhere in the middle of it practically divided in two and rotatable relative to each other. This is not to say that the speakers in the box would receive a separate signal on a separate channel, you only need to connect one cable to the speaker, but thanks to the rotation, we feel like the sound is really coming from multiple directions. Regarding the LG HB965TZ, we said that the system, in addition to being an entertainment center, can be an ornament of our home, as special attention has been paid to design. The same is true of the LG HB45E, in a slightly different style, of course, but black dominates here, interspersed with silvery dividers. The speakers also have soles, so if you don’t want to drill them somewhere, you can also be on the floor, although in that case you may not be at the ideal height for your head and ears.
Another interesting feature of the set is the bluray player itself, which, like the previous model, is also an amplifier, the speakers must be connected to it. There is nothing surprising about this, yes, in the design of the player itself. The unit does not use a tray optical unit, but uses the tray-free "suction" method. It is also safe to use when laid and adjusted. Accordingly, its shape is not unusual either, it is slightly stocky and less wide to stand confidently on its feet even when set. The display is located above the opening of the disc eject electronics, while the control buttons are on the narrower side. There is no complaint about the design and the use of materials this time either, you can feel free to put it under the TV on the stand.
Let's see what results his fabric promises! The speaker cables are also colored this time, as are the clip connectors on the back of the player, so we can’t go wrong, and since there are only three speakers in this case, assembly is faster and placement is easier. The LAN connection means that this time we will not lag behind NetCast online content and DLNA, streaming from the network, the HB45E knows the same as the HB965TZ, with the exception that this system does not have a built-in wireless unit. The FM antenna connector, on the other hand, is located on the back, so we don’t have to give up this form of radio.
We do not get an HDMI input this time, the HDMI output is obviously available, a bluray player does not exist without an HDMI output. However, it is possible to deliver the sound from an external device using an optical input, of which we also get two. Antiques lovers also have analog audio input (stereo) and composite video output, but in my opinion we only use them if we have no other options. The presentation of a connector has yet to be made, which, if it is not written out what it is, we might not have known either. Of course, LG engineers do not make such mistakes, it is a connection point for an iPod dock, for which the dock is included in the package, as a standard accessory.
