LG HX300G LED projector: World Cup final with a pub feel in your room

The LG display comes in a rather tiny box, at least compared to talking about a projector. Unpacking the box, we find a small carrying case, in one half of which we find the cables necessary for operation, and in the other, slightly larger part, we find the projector itself.

The LG HX300G is a real trifle, measuring just 160 x 135,5 x 139,2 millimeters and weighing less than 1 kilogram, making it a really small portable device. Nevertheless, we have no reason to complain about the technical data. THE DLP technology, and based on an LED light source, the device has a brightness of 270 lumens, which is definitely a lot in its category. In a properly darkened room, we can project an image with a diagonal of up to 60 inches, while in a lighter environment we have to be content with 50 inches. That's not a little.

The projected image can be a maximum of 1024 x 768 pixels, which means XGA resolution. You can feed a signal with a resolution of up to 1080p via HDMI or DVI, which you can't display at this resolution, but it's important to be able to use plenty of signal sources, whether it's a computer, console or indoor TV. The aspect ratio can be 4: 3 or 16: 9. The device does not have a zoom lens, so the placement can be said to be fixed during use. Of course, the sharpness can be adjusted manually, this is independent. An important data is the lifespan of the light source, as as we mentioned in the introduction in the old days, it was one of the most serious costs if we wanted to use a projector. Well, with the LG HX300G, we don’t have to worry about the lamp burning out, as we use an LED light source that allows up to 30 hours of operation. To make sense of how long this counts! Since this is a piece that is basically intended for work and demonstrations, let's take a 000-day work week, eight hours a day. In this case, the life of the "lamp" is about 5 years! In practice, this means that there will be no need to replace the light source at all, as the device itself will be ready to be replaced in 15 years.

In terms of operation, we have not yet talked about consumption or noise. We can expect to consume 100 watts during use, and the little one eats only 1 watt in standby mode. We can't complain about noise either. In normal mode, the manufacturer has provided 28-, and in Eco mode, 23 dB data, ie we can talk about essentially silent operation. We can prove this ourselves, as we did not have any complaints about the loud operation during the tests.

So far, we can say that the LG HX300G projector looks like a really good piece, plus there are some extra features that make it a really good reception!

One of them is that the projector can eat a lot of file formats via the USB port, so you won’t need to carry a computer with you during a presentation. For presentations, perhaps the most important thing is to support the .ppt format, but it's important that you don't have a problem with .xls files either. If you need a movie, we don't have any doubts either, as DivX HD support is also built-in. In our experience, handling .ppt files is slower than on a computer, but not annoyingly slow, it just seems that the hardware is weaker than on a computer. However, the range of supported file formats is much wider than this, as can be seen from the table below!

In the case of a presentation, in addition to the image, sound can also be important. The LG HX300G has a built-in speaker, but it only has 1 watt of power, though you know it in stereo. More importantly, the device also received an FM transmitter (FM transmitter) with a range of about three meters. This capability is great for an amplifier with an FM radio located within a range of three meters.

Image quality. For a projector, image quality is a crucial issue. Fortunately, using LED light sources gives you a fairly contrasting image. The LG HX300G has a noise reduction process, you can adjust the strength of the black, the color temperature. The image is uniform, there are no disturbances when very light and very dark areas meet. The projected image is pixel-free even at close range. The intensity of the colors changes automatically during the different modes, we get the most beautiful colors in Cinema mode.
