There was a time where it wasn’t, before the proliferation of LCD and plasma TVs, when we were still staring at traditional CRT televisions. It may have happened at the time that we wanted to be able to see an image with a diagonal over 100 inches in our living room. For many of us, it was just a seemingly unrealizable dream, as it only took one thing to have such an experience, a lot of money.

At the time, there were two solutions available that weren’t really very different. One is the traditional projector, in which you could only replace a lamp for horror money when you were tired, and which had really ridiculous brightness, not to mention the resolution. Or there were the televisions that, with rear projection technology, essentially enclosing a projector in a large house with a terrible contrast, low brightness, and awful color fidelity.

These solutions were expensive. The projector also needed a screen, as we wrote above, the burners didn't last too long, and the replacement was a small asset. For these reasons, neither solution was able to spread.

But times are changing. Rear-projection TVs have disappeared, as the large screen now belongs to LCD and plasma solutions. However, the projector has remained, albeit, quite a bit better than it was a few years ago.
