AMD overtook NVIDIA in the discrete graphics card market

AMD's rapid DirectX 11 "rush" has borne fruit.

Market research firm Mercury Research said on Wednesday that AMD once again outperformed NVIDIA in terms of graphics card sales. In the second quarter of 2010, AMD increased its share of the desktop video card market to 51 percent, while NVIDIA fell to 49 percent. Taking aggregate, integrated solutions into account, Intel continues to maintain its leading position ahead of AMD 54,3 and NVIDIA 24,5 percentage points with its 19,8 percent stake. Last year, the Greens were still 29,6 per cent ahead of the Reds (18,2 per cent).
