The test consisted of two steps. The first, more awkward (boring?) Part came to me (s3nki) so I could try out the ability to accommodate Office files and browse the technical data and menu. The more pleasant task became Gabié's, so the next two pages are His writing, in which he shares his experiences with home use with us and evaluates his client's projector.

Of course, we enjoy the capabilities of a projector when we admire the image it projects. Of course, projectors are also used for different tasks, perhaps the most common way to use them is to get presentations used in presentations on a screen. Although the HX300G is a small, easy-to-carry, extremely advanced model in terms of mobility, I myself took advantage of this part of the thing only because the product slipped easily into my backpack even when boxed, so getting it home from the editorial office was literally an easy task.

Before we move on, I have to point out that I’ve never tested a projector before, but not only that I haven’t tested, I haven’t even tried. Accordingly, do not expect a thorough characterization with a routine professional eye, but rather the experiences of an enthusiastic - amateur eye on the subject.

That particular Saturday morning, I was very enthusiastic about unpacking the HX300G, as it happened back in the weekend when a World Championship bronze match was set up that night, a Formula 1 race the next afternoon, and the 2010 World Cup final was waiting to be watched. My girlfriend and I thought we would like to take advantage of the cinematic conditions to watch some action movies before the Uruguay - Germany match tonight. Eventually, who knows why, we opted for Lightning Thief, which was available in 720p resolution and the relatively high bitrate associated with it, so it could by no means prove to be a bottleneck in terms of projector knowledge. Let’s add one more important thing, it also shows how much of a “quick test” it was: We didn’t have a canvas! 🙂 One of the walls of the room served as a projection surface, which due to its snow-white color was suitable to receive the image of the LG HX300G.

Of course, before launching the film, we conjured complete darkness into the room, connecting the PC to the projector via an HDMI cable, so the quality on the interface didn’t go away either. After a few settings in the Catalyst Control Center, we could already enjoy the Windows desktop larger than two meters in front of us on the wall of the room. Nothing had happened yet, but it was already a stunning sight. Then we did the usual pre-movie operations, i.e. the preparation of the cold drink and the chips, we made ourselves comfortable, and then the Lightning Thief started. What the film itself was like, we’d rather leave, in our subjective opinion, quite once a spectator, and then maybe we were too old for the tale. Regardless, we were maximally satisfied with the visual world, I adjusted the focus manually in the first few minutes with the scroll wheel on the top of the LG HX300G, after which we really felt like we were sitting in a cinema (of course we didn't use the built-in speaker, but the 5.1 sound system).

A few hours later, a different but even better thing to watch was the bronze match. Of course, this was no longer sent to the projector via the computer, but the digital mpeg-4, SAT TV set-top box was connected to the projector also via HDMI, very simply. We checked the aspect ratio and sharpness on the projector, it took a little refreshment to drink and eat, and then the excitement could begin. In addition to the film, the other category worth watching on a very large diagonal is the sporting event. And anyone who saw the bronze match and possibly cheered for one of the teams can imagine what it was like to enjoy a wall size in their own room.

The good isn’t hard to get used to, and since the system was already set up, I didn’t have the heart to disassemble it unnecessarily, we rather watched the TV show on the little LG until we slept through Sunday. Early in the afternoon we tuned in to the evening World Cup final by watching the Formula 1 race, not with bad efficiency either, especially the internal camera shots were really stunning. The WC final - jumping one in time - was nowhere near as much of an experience, of course the LG HX300G LED DLP projector could no longer do that.
