Details about NVIDIA's new chip

NVIDIA's new chip, the MCP61 with integrated graphics processor, will soon be available in three versions.

Preliminary speculation has not proved true that the MCP61 will replace the current GeForce 6100 product line, with the two tiles present on the market completely independently of each other. Developed for AMD AM2 processors, the new NVIDIA product is manufactured using 90-nanometer manufacturing technology, allowing it to encompass the north and south bridges within a single silicon core. The new development is fully prepared to support DirectX 9.0c and Windows Vista.

The specifications for the integrated graphics processor (IGP) are still unknown, all you can know is that it will run at 61 MHz for the premium-class MCP425P and 375 MHz for the other two variants. Motherboards with new chips may hit store shelves in the third quarter, we don’t know the goods yet, we can only be sure they’ll be cheaper than their GeForce 6100/6150 / 6150B-paired nForce 410/430 counterparts.
