Panasonic DMP-BD10

Panasonic's consumer electronics division received important news: the manufacturer's first desktop BD player will be available in September

“With the DMP-BD10, Panasonic brings the most perfect high-definition experience to households,” said Reid Sullivan, vice president of commercial electronics for the manufacturer. “Our goal is to provide our customers with a complete solution for next-generation high-definition home entertainment,” as the company giant plans to introduce even more Blu-ray-enabled devices in the last half of the year. "To make it easier to manage our products, we'll ship them with a new feature: EZ-Sync, which is designed to coordinate Panasonic's various devices."

The primary function of the DMP-BD10 is to play high-definition videos from BD-ROMs (including HD MPEG-4 AVIs!), And now you can take CD and DVD support for granted (you need a separate laser head).

“We expect high demand worldwide, and accordingly we expect to sell around 4-5 million handsets in the first year,” Reid Sullivan added. We also learned that Panasonic does not yet consider it necessary to launch a hybrid drive (compared to LG).

We don’t know the exact price of the DMP-BD10, but we can most likely say that we’ll have to fetch a maximum of $ 1500 in the U.S. for it. Panasonic's products must ring against devices from the following manufacturers: LG, Sony, Pionner, and Toshiba, which amplifies the counter-camp (HD-DVD).
