SONY BDP-S500 - reasonable improvements

The Japanese mammoth company has announced its latest blue laser desktop player.

SONY’s latest Blu-ray player, the BDP-S500, arrives in the fall, a clear step forward from its predecessor, the S300. How does this manifest itself? For the newcomer, we’re already faced with a device that fully supports the latest lossless audio formats - such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD.

HDMI is now compatible with the 1.3 standard, and of course the player's support for the 1080 / 24p format shouldn't be a problem either. Unfortunately, it’s not about whether the BDP-S1.1 meets the BR 500 standard, but we hope for the best.

Unfortunately, the expected price has also crawled up due to the improvements, they will ask for 1200 US dollars in stores overseas (currently we can adopt the BDP-S300 for around 150 forints in Hungary). However, I am pleased that SONY promises to make this small bargain available in Europe in October.
