Everything for the ear, or tips for buying a hi-fi

At the end of the year, the turnover of consumer electronics is on the rise, but beyond the multifunctional smartphones that have been a hit product for years, the electronics segment has an undeservedly marginalized area: listening to quality music.sonus faber_aida_loudspeakersWithin the framework of the recent Audio Vision Show, the exclusive speaker of the Audiophyle Salon, Aida, which is the flagship of the Sonus faber brand, was presented in Hungary for the first time.

Attilla Jancsa, director of the Audiophile Salon, said at the event that in her opinion this market is still very undeveloped in Hungary, consumers do not know either the really big brands or the quality criteria. However, following a few rules can prevent frustration or unnecessary spending.

The first is not to buy purely online information based on test magazines. Since personal experience is the key to the sound of products, we are definitely looking for a store where we can try many products. Ask your expert dealer for personalized advice, because to make a good choice you need to consider several aspects: for example, the size and furnishings of the room, the tools already available and last but not least the style of music you often listen to.

Since the most important element of the system is the speaker, as it plays the music, it is definitely worth spending the most of the available frame on it. If we can, choose handmade products instead of mass-produced ones. If you really want quality sound, don’t decide based on the often redundant applications. As convenient and trendy as it is to send music from a phone to the player, less compressed recordings are closest to real sound, so choose a device that can play them.

It is important not to just decide based on the design, not to buy a sculpture. Let your ears choose first, and only if we can already hear the difference will we let our eyes have a say in the purchase!
