LG BD370 - Blu-ray and MKV in one place?

After unpacking our protagonist, a black, rectangular metal box came to our table. Taking a closer look at his fabric, we got a very cheeky player in Hungarian, which, after switching on, further intensified our comments on excellent design and ergonomics (see later for more details).

That's how it arrived

The front part is very unique, the image is clearly dominated by the large round button located in the middle, around which different colors shine depending on the type of media. Of course, we can wake up the BD370 from its sleep with the help of this small circular "protrusion", the tray opening button is slightly to the left, while the play/pause button is to the right. The disc tray is hidden behind the cover of the image, which is halved in this way, with a brand inscription, which moves with adequate speed and average music volume, while on the right side there is a fold-down cover, which, in addition to the fluorescent display, contains a USB connector and three additional buttons (stop and forward/backward ) hide:

The lower part does not make us fevered, there is nothing there other than vents, as we can only find a few logos on the roof along with the Youtube sticker spreading opposite:

All in all, we can say that we are not dealing with a tank-like construction that seems indestructible (the use of plastics is, of course, in the forefront), but we cannot have any complaints in this regard (either).

It now has a CD in it

We can't miss the description of the butt either, as this is an area with very important features for us. In addition to the connectors - which are unfortunately not gold-plated (come on, we are insatiable…) - here are the two forks of the 230 V power supply, as well as a couple of stickers and warnings:

Take a closer look at the rear connectors

Knowledge of the device is not commonplace, it almost eats even ham-cheese-mushroom-corn pizza. The BD370 also offers the ability to drive older displays, but we clearly recommend a full HD display. A stereo amplifier can also be used in case of emergency, as it has an RCA pair reserved for this purpose, however, an older multi-channel driver with only analog inputs is out of the circle, as LG does not provide an analog 5.1 output. As a result, we are voting for at least one AVR equipped with HDMI 1.1 (since the player is able to output all audio formats in LPCM format on this all-in-one digital output), of course the real one would be a monster supporting the 1.3a standard (as we would a this was used for the test - see later).

We still have one restance, which is nothing but the contents of the box:

The chunky, multilingual manual and the included HDMI cable are clearly visible among the ingredients. In the case of the latter, I am glad that the fact itself is commendable, but the player - and presumably the display - deserves a more serious string.
