Two more multimedia players from LC-Power

We will keep our introduction very short this time, as this is our sixth article on LC-Power products. The manufacturer, which also has German roots, has expanded its range in recent years: the brand, originally known perhaps for its power supplies, now deals in computer cases, fans, mice, keyboards, external hard drives - and we could list more.

Multimedia isn’t far from LC-Power either, nothing proves that better than it did in September we presented a few pieces from the supply at the time. Even now, our test subjects came from this segment of the market - this time we can greet a couple in our editorial office. Let's not drag it any further, let's get to know our smaller competitor!

Behind the very sonorous name is actually a small nook built for 3,5 ″ SATA HDDs. In his case, do not expect anything extra, data communication is exhausted in USB transfer. In the pop you can find two more multimedia outputs, from which you can use the included cables to create the following standard connections: component, composite and stereo audio. There is no digital exit, which unfortunately requires us to enter a black dot next to the name of our player. In the same place - just a little lower - there is also the opening of the DC supply, under which there is a write, from which we can deduce that the maximum power consumption can be 24 W.

There was no mention of the fact that we can't complain about the quality of the tiny aluminum housing, the little nook seems quite durable. His body is wrapped in a deep black robe, which looks very good and, fortunately, is not really sensitive to fingerprints (on the contrary, it appreciates dusting). We also get a small plastic "docker" with which we can even use the 35MP2 in an upright position.

In the upper part of the front panel, you can find the brand inscription, below it are the navigation "keys" in a circular shape, surrounding the push button bearing the playback symbol. Sliding our eyes down, we can notice the stop and power button, as well as the infrared sensor. From the latter, we can guess that there is also a remote control in the package, which is a very simple - perhaps too light - piece (but more on that later).

Let's look at the specifications:

  • Model name: EH-35MP2
  • Input: USB 2.0
  • Outputs: component, composite, stereo audio
  • TV standard: PAL / NTSC
  • Supported formats: AVI, XviD, MPEG-1/2/4, VCD (DAT), DVD (VOB, IFO), MP3, WMA, JPEG (slideshow); inscription: SSA, SMI, SRT
  • Hard disk: 3,5 ″, SATA, FAT32
  • Weight: 0,48 kg

We can easily insert our hard disk into the housing: holding the front panel, we pull out the drawer, and then, paying attention to the fixed SATA connectors, push in our HDD. Then turn the whole thing upside down so that we can properly fix our storage with screws. Unfortunately, there is no cooling fan, so it is worth paying attention to the type of hard drive you are using and the conditions under which you intend to use the 35MP2. If we looked a little around the PCB during the previous flipping operation, we might have noticed the large ESS "centipede", which is actually a (general) integrated chip for HDD players, so we can consider it the brain of our gadget.
