Fortunately, it is becoming easier to access HD content these days, but this has not been the case in recent months. An HD display had been available for years, but even if we wanted to use it small, there was no choice but to buy an expensive Blu-ray or HD-DVD player and then buy movies at a gold price.

Fortunately, the situation seems to be changing. Although currently Hungarian M1 and M2 are not available among DVB-T broadcasts, this situation will hopefully change, so we will even be able to watch HD quality Hungarian broadcasts. In addition to television broadcasts, more and more HD content is also available on the Internet, enough to think of the high-definition content found on YouTube.

So the situation is changing, so a device that can serve us in a compact way in our living room, providing access to our own network, content available on the Internet, and digital terrestrial broadcasts, would have an increasing viability. Well, LG has made sure to have such a player on store shelves.

LG has been exposing itself lately lately. On our site, you can already read about a desktop Blu-ray player that can play MKV files, and even access media content shared on your home network through its networking capabilities.

The device now introduced is similar, yet completely different. It is similar in that it also handles MKV files, it is different because we cannot play optical media with it. So LG’s new handset offers less in part and much more in other areas. The basic concept is that we write fewer and fewer films on disk, more and more material remains on the hard disk. This may be true as hard drive prices are falling, at least when looking at the MB / HUF ratio. Because of the almost insanely expanding storage capacity, it’s no longer as much of a problem to be full of a few hundred gigabytes of movies, let alone music.

It was along this concept that LG’s development began, but of course it didn’t stop there. The engineers, as can be seen above, also implemented Internet functions with good sense and did not forget about the proliferation of digital terrestrial broadcasts. Fortunately, as we have become accustomed to with LG devices, the tuner is not a problem either, as we find MPEG4 tuners in almost all new players and televisions.
