Introducing: MC001-BD - a PC that won't leave you cold

We’ve written quite a lot about Arctic’s new face in recent months. Now, perhaps the most significant development of the company, a mini-PC has reached us.

Doesn't everyone remember that until about a year and a half ago, Arctic, or Arctic Cooling, was synonymous with quality computer cooling. Swiss company, Swiss design, and of course probably Chinese manufacturing. That's all it took to succeed, nothing more.

However, as time goes on, desktops are losing ground and market to alternative solutions quite slowly but at an ever-accelerating rate. First came notebooks, then netbooks, and now tablets, to name just laptops. Of course, the desktops have not disappeared either, as more and more nettops find a host.

As we’ve written several times before, Arctic has switched, and while the quality coolers haven’t disappeared, we were surprised by a bunch of other interesting products. Perhaps the most interesting of these is the machine we have just tried, more specifically HTPC.

The completion of this machine in the life of the manufacturer is a huge step, as they have come a long way from cooling down to this point. True, Spanish wax did not have to be invented, as many manufacturers make machines for a similar purpose, i.e., a home entertainment center. So there was a place to draw. It’s a question of what the Swiss could add to this, which will make us love their machine more than some of their competitors. We will try to find an answer to this question in this article.
