A complete data backup package has been unveiled by Seagate

The kit, named Replica, contains all the components needed to back up your data.

Although data backup is not a new activity at all, it is still much less important in the home segment today than, for example, in a corporate environment. On the one hand, a significant amount of the related financial investment is responsible for the existing - by no means ideal - situation, however, the lack of user information related to the topic did not facilitate the widespread dissemination of this important activity. The Seagate Replica, which is able to continuously save data without user intervention, can also be a cure for all this, and its purchase price cannot be said to be exaggerated.

The kit is, of course, based on a hard drive hidden behind a stylish cover that connects to your computer via a USB port. The standard 250GB unit boasts a speed of 5400 rpm, which results in subdued consumption on the one hand and quiet operation on the other. Replica's greatest virtue is that the user has virtually nothing to do with data backup other than connecting the USB cable and accepting the license agreement, as the device automatically ensures that the operating system, installed applications, their settings, e- email and other documents as long as you are connected to that computer. Unfortunately, it’s not about what happens when the available storage is full, which is not at all unthinkable given the size of commonly used hard drives.

The Replica is available in two versions: the base model comes with a 250GB hard drive, while the expanded modification, which can simultaneously back up multiple machines, comes with 500GB capacity and a vertical stand. Purchase prices are around $ 129,99 and $ 199,99, respectively, taking into account the previous order.
