LG BD370 - Blu-ray and MKV in one place?

One of the main attractions of the device - in addition to its external beauty - is undoubtedly its ease of use. It seems that in addition to the design, the designers also paid attention to the future users of the BD370, as LG managed to create a very user-friendly player. In the spirit of this, the menu system was born, which shows a spooky resemblance to the products of the brand seen so far:

Unfortunately, we also have to give a black dot to our protagonist here, as the range of options is far from inexhaustible…

Let’s take MKV forward quickly, as it really brings many to fever. We can provide good news: we tried quite a few, there was nothing wrong with playback. It so happened that our delinquent wrote: there is a possibility that there will be problems with the given file - in this case there was an example that he did not display the caption, but overall we can make a very positive statement about this ability. Apart from all this, the subtitle and audio track change is fast and smooth, we can’t have any complaints about the rewind. (We would note here that the caption cannot be customized, but there is basically no problem with this feature.)

A red light means DVD

We fed our protagonist in two ways: from disk and from mass storage. We tried all kinds of Verbatim and Ricoh DVDs, none of them had read problems - by the way, the latter operation always took place within 10 seconds - DivX and MKV went nicely. The SATA Silicon Power SSD we still have was formatted to FAT32 and connected to the BD2 using Scythe Kama Connect 370 - which recognized the device after a few seconds and we could browse through it without any problems. We committed another assassination attempt: we tried BD-R (E) discs and read them without any problems.

Of course, the whole point is knowing the Blu-ray standard, so we quickly inserted the blue edition of 300. To begin with, we were curious about the "loading time", which was up to one and a half minutes for the first generation players. To our greatest satisfaction, the movie started within 20 seconds after inserting the "blue" disk - so the BD370 can be said to be very fast. However, we can say this not only from this point of view: chapter changes did not cause any problems for him, just as he also responded relatively quickly to scrolling commands. The only thing that makes us delinquent is if, for example, we call up the player's main menu while watching a movie - but even this is within the usual limits.

The cracker

We haven't talked about one thing yet, and that is the remote control. Unfortunately, even with the best of temper, we can say that it is a quality solution, but it will not hinder us in effective navigation. Its handling is easy to get used to, but we can already run into problems in the darkened room, since not only does nenm have backlighting, it didn’t even get fluorescent buttons. A word like a hundred: we would have endured a slightly more beaten piece, but of course it is (also) a subjective thing.
