Kojak mouse is not just for bald people
There are many forums on the net where poker players offer each other mice and together they try to figure out what rodent would be best for them. Why is this such a cardinal question? Because whoever plays poker regularly spends long hours in front of the machine. This time, when we get to the last table of a tournament with thousands of people, can be up to 8-10 hours, meanwhile, apart from short breaks, we sit in a chair in a posture, in the same position with our neck, arms, hands, back. Maybe I’m not revealing a secret by saying that by the end of a race day, you can be pretty tired.
For this reason, it is important what kind of display we use, what our chair and table are like. It doesn't matter what the keyboard is on the desktop, because it's rarely used, but the mouse is the central issue.
What kind of mouse would be good for poker? On the one hand, you don't need blood-proof electronics, you don't need serious software tuning, and it's not important to follow our movements accurately even at 20 G acceleration. Any kind of mouse is suitable for such abilities. It doesn’t even matter what kind of mouse we buy, because although the inside is almost irrelevant, the outside is much more important.
I’ve seen writing in many places about why the currently prevalent form of mouse isn’t good, that our wrists aren’t at a good angle, and we’re going to have tennis elbows and get into trouble that looks like sporty. The ugliness of the whole thing is that it’s true too. For this reason, just as the ergonomic keyboard was invented, so do ergonomic mice. I also have one of these, made by Microsoft, but I really hate it, even though the wrist posture is theoretically correct, I can't even get used to it. And if I can’t get used to it, it distracts me from the game, and if I don’t pay attention to envelopes, I’m going to lose. So this is not a solution. I stay with the usual mouse shape or look around the net to see if there is a better idea.
Maybe I’m not revealing a secret by the fact that it exists, and even I already have two versions of it on my desk.
