For sale is the semiconductor division of Philips Electronics
According to the Wall Street Journal, the semiconductor division of Philips Electronics will soon take over a new owner.
In the final stages of the sales process, which began last year, three groups of investors have a chance to take over Philips' business under almost identical conditions; quotes exceed $ 10,2 billion.
After the sale of the semiconductor manufacturing division, the Amsterdam-based company wants to focus only on consumer electronics, lighting technology and medical instruments.
Philips Semiconductors was the world’s eighth largest semiconductor manufacturer last year, with sales of $ 5,7 billion and a market share of 2,4 percent, employing 36 people worldwide in five European countries, the United States and the Far East.
