ASUS Eee PC 1004DN - luxury in a small way

It is not an ordinary piece, this is clearly demonstrated by the packaging, as it arrived in a midnight black box, in which you can find three "pouches" in a similar style: one is the section responsible for the power supply, in the middle, of course, you can find our main character, while in the small folder there is a DVD, the user beta version of the manual and a washcloth hides.

Of course, our first thing was to highlight the 1004DN from the small textile bag, which we first found to be no longer as tiny as its predecessors. Sure, our test subject started off with dangerous fattening, and if he continues like this, he can certainly capture 12 ″ UMPCs; for this reason, we ask the manufacturer: so far, and no more!

Of course, the main advantage of the Eee PC, the small size, is still present, if you feel like it, simply put it under your arm and you can go out into the world. In the case of the 1004DN, there will certainly be no problem with durability, it seems to be a very solid "structure", which is definitely one of the positives, and this also increases usability.

Our test subject mostly shines in a sparkling color - at least this is the closest definition - which makes the small Eee PC very attractive - and last but not least ensures the elegant appearance. Why did we write that for the most part? The lower half of our protagonist and the "coffee" shine in night black, which is in complete harmony with the golden color.

Let's take a closer look at your fabric! On the right we can find the built-in optical drive in the company of LAN and a USB, while on the other hand we can face the following connectors: DC power supply, D-Sub, 2 pieces of USB, microphone and headphones, as well as the Express Card slot.

The back is very puritanical, although the 5200 mAh battery, which can be said to be a heavy individual compared to its size, takes up space here, and we also have to look for the Kensington lock in the area. On the "façade" you can only find the slot for the memory card reader, which means that you won't get lost in the thick of connectors here either.

When you open it, you can feel that the cover has mass, and what is even better news is that the metal hinges also seem very solid and durable. We have already talked about the black bezel of the display - which by the way cannot be said to be narrow at all - now we would only draw attention to the elegant Eee PC "engraving" below and to the 1,3 megapixel camera above, which provides a more than sufficient picture of us when chatting on the Internet (we tried it).
