I found the following article on the Hungarian fan page of the operating system.

Linux Mint meets the prettier sex

It’s always interesting to read what a novice user can do with Linux, which has been called the miracle beetle. This will be the account of a 40-year-old lady who speaks honestly - or rather, writes - about why she chose Linux. We will also talk about the advantages and disadvantages of the penguin system. For me, this account was an experience, which is why I brought you a little taste of it below, in case you are curious about this confession.

I always say that I was driven primarily by moral considerations toward Linux. Over thirty, it can be said of the majority of people that we have a kind of social responsibility, a moral attitude in which our lives are aligned. That's what happened to me. I thought, if I never stole it in the store because I find it unacceptable, then it’s time to keep my computer’s operating system clean as well. However, since I didn't have 80-100 thousand forints for this (operating system, office software package, anti-virus), I started to get interested in the cheaper or free alternatives.

I didn’t have to research for long, Linux was the only one that seemed like a realistic alternative. I posted on a Linux forum where the Linux Mint was recommended to me because it is suitable for beginners, easy to use, friendly, and has a simple interface. I installed it, with some help. I didn’t want to “play with two holes,” I didn’t install it as a secondary system, but as a single, sharp system to use. I felt like I wanted to learn. The eczema, who was a programmer, wanted to talk about it. He said I would cry from him in two weeks. It didn't happen that way.

I started using it and I felt like it was some lost good stuff. I got a completely complete, usable, almost all-purpose system with the installation. And if I wanted something plus, I downloaded it. One example was a program called ClipGrab, which lets you download YouTube videos and their audio tracks.

For a few months, I was so enthusiastic that I started doing some kind of conversion activity. I talked to everyone who came across me about Linux. I became terribly compelled to communicate because I firmly believed I had the Holy Grail. Of course, it turned out to me that people don’t always open up to novelties as easily as I do. At the same time, I seriously think - even now - that Linux Mint would be completely suitable for most people and families.

We would like to thank Judit Zigó once again for sharing her thoughts “with us”. It was an instructive case, so much fixed. Has it made you want to try Linux, or do you still feel too much trouble after that?
