Xiaomi Pro HD Hybrid, in-ear music

Not the cheapest of the manufacturer’s offerings, but it sounds really good!

I ordered this Xiaomi earpiece because I had to. I’ve been using all sorts of crap, Samsung-labeled stunts packed next to phones for a long time, don’t ask why, as we don’t even have to reach into our pockets so much if we’re looking for normal stuff to listen to music. I’m not even talking about loving listening to music anymore, so it’s a little incomprehensible to myself why I poison my ears with unenjoyable quality packs. Since I knew my Xiaomi phone was coming soon, it was clear that I couldn’t order anything other than a Xiaomi earplug to make sure they loved each other.

If you’ve already Xiaomi, I haven’t chosen the cheapest one, I’m trying to take care of that now, not to leave, not to tear or break the cable. That’s a big word for me, if in two weeks I haven’t stumbled upon a doorknob with it, I’ll light fires of joy that you’ll see from all over the country. Now, however, read my impressions of the first few days first in a short article.

Packaging and exterior

I can get bored already, but I have to start the article with a white box description again. The front of the tab, the side of a Mi logo on the back and the technical details are adorned in Chinese. Slowly, it would be worthwhile for me to learn this wonderful language along with Chinese calligraphy.

The box has a drawer, we have to slide the inside out. In the “drawer” we are waiting for another, now plastic box, in which the Xiaomi Pro HD Hybrid rests in a soft rubber bed. If we take out and turn the rubber, we will find the two earrings on both sides, the controller in the middle.

Since we see a lot of metal and little plastic, the feeling of fuss I have mentioned several times soon develops, which causes a little satisfaction for the buyer after a well-made purchase. Start unwinding the cable not with the tab, but with the plug snapped to the side, otherwise there will be a big tangle before you try.

Technológia

When I started looking for ears, of course, I looked for what to buy from Xiaom. It was a big surprise that you can write much more than one paragraph about this stuff, even if I just want to showcase the technology used.

I honestly admit, I’m not a big audiophile, but I love music in all its forms, and I’m not against listening to it on a quality pair of speakers or earphones, not on the radio. The point is, they understand a lot better than they do with these headphones. Because of this, I had to look for some terms, such as balanced armature or dynamic control.

The latter is less interesting as it is used in most earphones, with the advantage of improving the quality over the entire sound range. The former, on the other hand, is a little more interesting. This solution was first used in hearing aids. In the case of dynamic speakers, a coil moves in the housing, in the magnetic field, this moves the diaphragm, creating an audible sound. On the other hand, in the case of a balanced armature, the coil is stationary and a needle moves in the coil, which is connected to the membrane. This solution provides a much more precise sound, in addition to being very light and taking up very little space. This allows you to either place multiple fittings in one headset, or the manufacturer can install other technology along with it, such as a dynamic drive.

Please, Xiaomi did just that. They claim the dynamic drive covers the entire sound range well and delivers great bass, while the balanced armature delivers wonderfully high tones and great speech reproduction. I tried this, but about it later, because there is something else here that we need to talk about.

And what we’re going to talk about is the Dual Dynamic Drive. The interesting thing about this is that a double membrane works in the ear of the Xiaomi, plus a graphene membrane, which isn’t very common in cheap but even mid-priced structures like the Xiaomi Pro HD. According to the description, thanks to the graphene membrane, I will have to hear a much more detailed sound. If that’s true, and the double drive above does its job well, I’ll have a truly special experience!

Exterior and use

The metal body of the Xiaomi Pro HD hybrid is formed by CNC diamond cutting. In addition to the sandblasted metal housing, we find hard and shiny plastics that feel a bit like vinyl. This is used to make the plug-in part where the rubber cushion is placed and also the stem that ends in the cable. Once you have the cable, I have to mention a compelling argument in favor of buying. And this is the quality of the cable used. Now I’m not thinking about rubberizing, but about the fact that this cable is flexible so there will be a lot less chance of me breaking it.

The plug part is attached to the body of the ear not at 90 degrees, but at 45 degrees, so the manufacturer achieves a more comfortable position in the ear and the rubber pad closes perfectly, which is essential to achieve proper bass.

In addition to the body of the ear, there is also a controller with three buttons on the cable. It is also made of metal. You can use the buttons to access several functions. I tried it with a Xiaomi phone so I can report on how it works. The two outer buttons are used to adjust the volume, while the middle one has several functions. Press once to mute the sound completely, press twice to advance through the track list, press three times to go back one step, and press and hold to start a song recognition program on your phone.

There’s one more thing left, and that is the rubber pad that gets in your ears. Since this is a professional solution, the manufacturer does not believe that all people are born with the same size ears. For this reason, there are four different sized pillows in the package, with which everyone can use the ears comfortably and well closed.

Experience and conclusion

I took some classical music from my collection, then some rock from the pounding and finer variety. Vivaldi introduced the four seasons, Motörhead spotted everyone with an ace of spades, then the Dire Straits took him to the battlefield. These are very different music, but that was the goal, and I like them all.

From what I have experienced under what I have used, I must first point out that the reproduction of the vocals was quite wonderful. At Dire Straits, my eyes filled with tears of beauty. In addition to the vocals, the fullness of the midtones really impressed me. Although I don’t dare use the stunning for heights, but it was close to it, we imagine a high-end earpiece. Everything from the fiddling of the violins to the chirping of the cymbals rubbed the perfect. The bass also sounded in place, and it wasn’t really bad, but I still have to say that the bass has to vibrate our lungs, echo inside our chest, so listening to Motorhead without a subwoofer is sacrilege. Okay, you don’t need a subwoofer if you have the right size middle subwoofer, but I wouldn’t go under that. 😉

All in all, I have to say that Xiaomi’s ears brought plenty, or rather, a little beyond what I expected from her. Now I could say that, of course, since Xiaomi, but it's not that simple. This earpiece currently costs $ 21, which is roughly $ 5600. That’s why we don’t really get a similar knowledge path for money at home, and now I’m referring not only to the dry facts described in the specification, but also to practical experience. Although I don't want to listen to hard rock with in-ear headphones anymore, a glam rock song, or a Guns opus listed here, but I don't think it fits perfectly, is already in the enjoyable category.
