The Phenom X3 has become a reality

AMD also officially announced the K10 generation of three-core members yesterday.

We were hesitant, but it was true. After news of three-core AMD processors that seemed unfounded at first, the manufacturer put an end to the guesswork and included Phenom X3 processors in official roadmaps.

Although the presentation for the announcement shows what AMD is for with its three-core CPUs, as we will see, the benefits announced are not necessarily X3-specific.

The areas of use, divided into three parts, unsurprisingly mention the advantages over dual-core processors, however, the much-proclaimed "The more cores, the better performance!" slogan either way, but the X4 wins. The only point of interest is the connection mentioned in the case of games transcribed from the Xbox 360, as the CPU in the console also has a three-core structure. Of course, this is more marketing than a real advantage in the case of the X3.

The X3 processors have already been included in the above roadmap, with the first generation expected in the second half of 2008, while X3s spoiled with DDR3 support could hit store shelves for a year.
