Introductory

I've been on the hunt for a good pressure washer for a while now. At Banggood, I really like Topshak's devices, but I didn't order their washing machine, as good as it was, from a Spanish warehouse, because the cost of shipping was very expensive.

Of course, it was still cheaper than the products of well-known domestic brands with the same quality, but it was not so much cheaper that I felt that the offer was irresistible. So I waited until the Mensela PW-W1 appeared in the range.

I quickly asked the distributor what price we could expect for spring, and what he said was already very convincing. I used all my charms and persuaded him to give me the machine at a spring price, and I would write an article in exchange.

I was lucky, he was willing to bargain, so this article was born, and I got a low-cost Frank pressure washer. It's true, it's only as cheap as what you can buy it for starting this week, but damn it, the store was still worth it!

Packaging, accessories and exterior

The Mensela PW-W1 is a washing machine with a completely average shape, average size and average capacity. From now on, the accessories are also average, that is, we don't get anything that we wouldn't expect. All joking aside, as you can already guess from the introduction, the only thing that will not be average about this machine is its price, that is, what you have to pay for it.

So, if you want something special, you can skip the whole article and scroll to the end to find out how much it costs. But if you stay here, you will find out what a good pressure washer is like.

So the packaging. Nice box, with normal pictures and the right amount of information. With this machine and this box, we can easily run into a car shop, the packaging will take care of itself.

Thick impact protection awaits us inside. The accessories are on the top shelf, and the machine itself on the bottom.

Among the accessories we find a few things. There is, of course, the pistol, on which we press the trigger while washing. There is an extension tube, for this we get a swivel end. There is also a car wash brush, and there is also a detergent dispenser container. We get one more description, a quick link to the end of the slag, and that's it.

If I really wanted to get into something, I could perhaps mention that with the more expensive machines we also get an extra extension shaft, but fortunately the extension shaft of the Mensela PW-W1 is also long enough for comfortable use.

As I said, nothing extra, but everything we could wish for.

The machine does not hold anything surprising from the outside. The usual vertical shape, which we see in essentially all manufacturers when we look at machines with similar capabilities.

Above is the cylinder storing the high-pressure hose with a crank on the side. There are wheels on both sides at the bottom, the switch at the front and top, and the inlet water connector in line with the switch at the bottom. At the bottom of the back, we can find the connector for the high-pressure hose, above it is only the hook for the mains cable.

The casing of the machine is of course plastic, here you can undeniably feel a bit of saving, i.e. the plastics feel thinner than e.g. in the case of a more expensive Kärcher. However, the matter is not terrible, the cover is not paper-thin, so let's just say that this information is part of the completeness, but fortunately the matter is not decisive.

Knowledge, that is, the paper form

In this chapter, I will focus on the aforementioned low price, as these will be the data on the basis of which you can compare the capabilities of the Mensela PW-W1 with the domestic offer.

Of course, the machine works with 230 volt alternating current, there is an EU plug at the end of the 5-meter mains cable. The Mensela PW-W1 motor has a power of 2100 watts and a motor speed of 3000 revolutions per minute.

The pressure produced by the machine is 100 bar, but what is usually indicated on all models is the maximum pressure, which is no less than 165 bar. The latter value is what I found in the descriptions of other machines. The maximum amount of water pushed through per minute is 7,5 liters, and the average amount of water is 5 liters.

Okay, let's move on! As I mentioned above, there is a detergent tank with a capacity of 300 milliliters, or 3 deciliters. For me (in addition to the above data), it was important that we get a long, 10-meter high-pressure hose for the washing machine, which is good because you don't have to drag the machine behind you while working.

Use and experience

In the case of the Mensela PW-W1, we cannot talk about assembly. Of course, the high-pressure hose has to be wound on the stub, and a quick-connector on the inlet side doesn't hurt either. Of course, the latter is not mandatory, but from the point of view of use, this is the simpler solution, i.e. much easier than rolling Dutch every time, not to mention that it is there among the accessories, so feel free to use it!

What I feel is completely unnecessary on the machine is the storage drum for the high-pressure hose. Quite simply, there is no way to easily wind the tube on it. The stiff tube doesn't want to bend the way we want it to, and rolling isn't easy, at least in the beginning. Clamping the washer between my knees, I sweat with the crank, and to keep the tube tight on the drum. I'm done brainstorming.

Fortunately, there is a hook for the XNUMX-gauge cable at the back, it is suspicious that I will store the tube hanging on it instead. Now, after the first use, I rolled it up on the drum, but I'm not sure I want it again.

Apart from this one idiocy, however, I can't offer anything negative. The size of the machine is normal, i.e. it is just big enough that I can comfortably drag it behind me if necessary. But you don't really need it, because it only weighs 11 kilos, so I think anyone can take it from A to B.

Among the data described above, the 5-meter mains cable and the 10-meter high-pressure pipe should be highlighted here. If you don't want to use an extension cord, you can still move 15 meters away from the outlet. That's enough for almost everything. Let's say I'm going to have an extension because I cleaned my car and my bike on the street.

Now it's worth spending a little time on the data written on the paper form. The Mensela PW-W1 has outstanding capabilities in terms of the amount of water delivered, the power of the motor and the pressure produced. Of course, I'm not saying that you won't find anything better, but it's almost certain that you won't in this price category. At least I didn't find it.

The maximum pressure of 165 bar is basically enough for everything. For completely ordinary things, such as knocking off the mud or washing the car is of course sufficient. Compared to paid washers, maybe only hot water washing is missing, because if we really want to, we can put a (waxy?) liquid that forms a water-repellent coating in the detergent tank, so waxing can be done at home.

What was important to me about the pressure was that I would not only wash cars and bikes with it, but also occasionally use it to remove moss from the sidewalk, and I would use it to lighten the limestone fence when the stones turned gray.

You don't spend more on a car wash - Mensela PW-W1 high pressure washer test 16

Removing the moss is an important aspect for me, because it can slip onto cattle in rainy, slushy autumn weather, and I wouldn't want someone to farm it in front of our house. So I will need the great pressure in the future as well.

That's about it. As I wrote above, the Mensela PW-W1 doesn't really offer anything extra compared to a machine from an average or perhaps more famous manufacturer.

Summary

Since I can't provide much more information, I'll stick with the price. Of course, I usually use the product finder to look at the domestic offer.

The first thing I looked at was what I could get at home for the price of the Mensela PW-W1. Well, for that price we get a brand-name machine, as well as a bunch of unknown types. What they have in common is that the maximum pressure and the power of the machine are the same. In other words, the Black & Decker BXPW1500E costs the same as the Güde GHD 105 and has exactly the same capabilities.

The point is that the machines offered for the price of the Mensela PW-W1 are 1400-1500 watts with a maximum pressure of around 100 bar.

Okay, but how much does a 2100 watt, 165 bar machine cost?

Well, the cheapest is the Kraft&Dele KD439, the price of which is HUF 47. The Fieldmann FDW 200-E, which is sold for HUF 202205, or the Powerplus POWXG54, which costs HUF 000, also have similar capabilities. There is also a Hecht (better known brand, but in my experience absolutely cheap Chinese quality) for HUF 90420, and there is an Einhell For 68 thousand, a Riwall for 000 thousand.

I think this will be enough from a price comparison, and now I only owe the price of the Mensela PW-W1, for which the distributor is asking HUF 27 this week.

I don't think there's any need to stress this any further, it's almost 20 thousand cheaper than even the cheapest competitor, let's not even talk about the more famous machines. So I think you now understand why I was happy that I managed to agree on a discounted price with the seller.

At the beginning of the article, I found a short video that I made while it was working, but to be honest, you won't see anything interesting in it either, at most some evidence that the Mensela PW-W1 is not just an empty plastic box, but a really working, even great working high pressure washer.
