Sharp 905SH: mobile TV

In addition to the traditional mobile features introduced by Vodafone Japan, the Sharp 905SH is primarily used to receive and display digital TV broadcasts.

The clamshell, which will later only be available in black, white and watercolor on the Japanese market, looks like a traditional device when folded, but as soon as we open it and rotate the top ninety degrees, the ordinary look disappears, further enhanced by the 10-centimeter-long retractable antenna.

Its eighteen-bit display has a size of 2,6 inches, a 16: 9 aspect ratio and a 400 × 240 image resolution, which is ideal for watching TV. The LCD is of the Advanced Super View (ASV) standard, which means that vivid colors are retained even at high angles. In addition to television, it is also capable of receiving FM radio broadcasts, and can also play a wide range of video and audio formats, as well as flash animations.

Its physical parameters are not small due to the large display, it weighs 105 grams on the scale with its size of 49 × 27 × 143 mm. In addition to 3G communication, it is also capable of using GPRS and also supports USB, Bluetooth and infrared. The high-capacity Li-Ion battery provides an optimal standby time of 360 hours and a maximum talk time of 3 hours, while 4 hours of operation can be expected in TV mode.

Aside from the television capability and exterior design, the Sharp 905SH is nothing more than a third generation mobile. Its internal memory is 38 MB, which can be further expanded with a miniSD card, its camera has 2 megapixels (1600 × 1200 pixels) and 3 × optical zoom. In addition to taking pictures at night, it can also be used in continuous shooting mode, while its external LCD display is monochrome and has a picture resolution of 72 × 12 pixels.
