Processor cooler test - Noctua against Intel Core i5
The design of the last remaining rib differs from the two pieces previously shown. In this solution, the slats run parallel to the motherboard and the fan is perpendicular to it, so the cooling air also gets to cool the components of the motherboard.
Due to the design, there are several tubes, in this case six pieces, but these - again only because of the design - leave the sole in one direction, so instead of a total of eight, the generated heat can only escape to the lamellae in six ways. Due to the smaller number of tubes and the smaller surface area of the heat dissipating plates, the manufacturer used more lamellae, number 44.
What has not changed is the material of the rib, in this case also copper and aluminum, and the size and design of the sole, which is not surprising, since it is not necessary to design different clamps for each rib.
The manufacturer also includes a fan (also Noctua NF-P12) for this cooling, which is enough, as we would not be able to mount more on this rib even if it were the desire of our heart. The fan is the same as the one described on the previous page. What, again, is not the same is size and weight. NH-C12P measures 91 x 152 x 126 millimeters and weighs 550 grams.
With regard to Noctua fans, we would like to draw the attention of all our dear readers Demonstration and test of 35 fans in which we also presented and weighed the products of the Austrian company in terms of air transport and noise. We recommend it to all our new readers Refrigeration Academy - Heat Tube Cooling which is not very recent, but all the more important for understanding the operation of heat pipe cooling.
