Processor cooler test - Noctua against Intel Core i5

The NH-U12P is a larger version of the rib discussed on the first page. The design and number of slats are the same, only the surface of the slats has become much larger. The similarity does not end here. The sole of the rib is exactly the same as that of the younger brother, there are 4 similar tubes, and of course the diameter of the tubes has not changed either, here it is 6 millimeters. What has changed is, of course, the length of the pipes, but we are not surprised by this, as the rib is also higher.

Here are a few words about the equipment. The clamp is not the usual push down, snap kind of Intel fastener. Noctua's solution was named SecuFirm MOUNTING. What is certain is that the recording is really “secu” i.e. safe, which nothing shows better than the equipment takes about a quarter of an hour. Not only is there a stiffening part above the motherboard, but also under it, so you certainly don’t have to worry about the radiator bending our board. There is no chance of the rib falling if you use a screwdriver, and you don't have to worry about ruining the clamp if you want to unscrew the rib several times a day, driven by some strange fad. Sure, who would do that out of good faith?

Due to the size of the rib, a larger fan (Noctua NF-P12) was included by the manufacturer, even a 120mm one. As with the previous rib, it was possible to install a second fan. The factory air blower has a speed of 1300 rpm, during which it is able to pass 63,4 cubic meters of air through the lamellae, and of course it also produces some noise, which is 19,8 dBA according to the figure. You can also find the ULNA add-on here.

We were still in debt with two pieces of data. The rib has a spatial extent of 158 x 126 x 71 millimeters and weighs 600 grams.
