This article also has a background. I’ve been using an electric or even smart toothbrush for quite some time, but I was reluctant to propagate this. I’ve been using the toothbrush for two months now, and in the meantime, I’ve started looking at other products from the company as well. I didn’t think I needed more dental cleaning equipment - I’ve been thinking differently since then, but I’ll write why later - but there’s a problem I’ve been looking for a solution to for a long time, and that is tartar.

Unfortunately, as long as I know I’m struggling with this, I have to go to the dentist for it from time to time because of it, which I don’t like to put it mildly, it is not pain free to take tartar if I have as much as I do.

Then I got stuck in the Oclean W1, which is a mouth shower. It’s also smart, it can be used with the same application as a toothbrush, and smart people say a mouth shower is also effective against tartar. So I bought it.

The last two weeks have not been enough for me to make a credible statement on a tartar case, but I was surprised by another case.

What is a mouth shower?

Before we get into the tutorial, I’ll write a few words about the mouth shower. While one might think that this is also an unnecessary gadget of the achievements of our modern age, the truth is very far from it. The development of the first mouth shower can be done in the early sixties, of course it is based on the idea of ​​a dentist.

A mouth shower is a device used to clean gaps between teeth, pomt like dental floss. Many swear by floss, others do not find it useful. This is pretty much the case with electric toothbrushes vs. also in disputes between traditional toothbrushes, and although there are many arguments in favor of electric toothbrushes and dental floss, many still consider them gentlemanly mischief.

Sure, they're wrong, but who's not, right? The point is that you need to brush your teeth thoroughly, well, but unfortunately it doesn’t cause silk, which removes dirt between your teeth, just like a toothpaste. Now you may ask the question, once there is a simple solution to this problem, then why do you need a mouth shower?

Well, for several things, and here I’m not relying on my own experience, but on all sorts of information from sites that deal with the topic of our teeth.

• First and foremost, it removes dirt from your teeth extremely effectively
• The second is that there is no chance of dirt on the silk being trapped between the threads of the silk to get even higher into the gap between the teeth.

Well, now we know what we can use a mouth shower for, so the Oclean solution can be introduced!

If I want to be very honest, there is not much difference between a mouth shower and a mouth shower. Of course, there is a difference between cheap and more expensive, and not just whether our shower is smart or not.

More important is the pressure at which the water can pump. It is more important what programs are in it, whether the strength of the water pressure, the intermittency and duration of the pumping can be adjusted. In addition to these, of course, size and weight are also very important.

Well, perhaps needless to say, Oclean, as one of the leading manufacturers of dental care products, was able to produce a very small, very light, yet very strong water pressure structure, one that can be adjusted in a thousand ways.

Too many accessories do not fall out of the flashy box. Next to the base unit is a hard box that will be good for travel, we get a short charging cable with a magnetic contact on one side and a USB port on the other, and we get two heads to spray water on our teeth. You could say almost a minimum package, except for storage.

The structure is really surprisingly small anyway, only 23 inches high, but that already includes the nozzle. Its weight is even more surprising, as it has a total of 15 deca, without true water. Let's just say it won't be much more either, because it's expensive enough, its tank is only 30 milliliters, but in my experience it's enough for even more complete cleaning.

In the handle we find a battery with a capacity of 1200 mAh. It takes 2 hours to fully charge it, and the usage time available on a single charge is 15 days, according to the manufacturer. Of course, it also depends on how long you use it each time, and of course how many times you turn it on every day.

For me, the usage time was pretty much halved, meaning I could use it for a week and a little with one charge.

As I wrote above, the pump in the machine can produce high water pressure. In practice, this means that a pressure of 140 kpa is created, with a maximum of this pressure the W1 mouth shower spits a mixture of water and air between our teeth.

If you don't mind, I'll skip over the terms and technologies that have a strong marketing smell here, because "work" terms like aerodynamic flushing only make me feel uneasy, they make the already frank machine a little frivolous.

What is important about the operation, however, is that the pump in the handle produces the high pressure by pumping air, which then delivers the water between the teeth. This not only increases efficiency but also reduces water consumption. Why this is good in practice will be described in the next chapter.

What else do you need to know about the machine?

It has two buttons, one to turn it on and off, the other to choose from, which can be deep cleaning, normal cleaning in manual mode or automatic cleaning.

As I wrote in the introduction, the phone app is the same as what we get for the toothbrush. If you have added the mouth shower as a new device, you can switch between the two devices to view the logged data or change the setting.

The Oclean W1 mouth shower does not have as many adjustment options as the toothbrush, but it still does little. In addition to the mode set on the machine, you can choose from 9 different strengths for the cleaning mode, and there are also two massage functions.

That's the software. I like it, it is worth emphasizing that it is easy to see and that you can cope well with the functions without a serious knowledge of English.

Experiences

Well, I have to admit, I’ve never used a mouth shower before, so I didn’t know what to expect from him. At first, taken out of the package, the first impressions were very good. Showy exterior, good materials, good color, just the right sensitivity of the buttons, and not overcomplicated.

The tiny size of the water tank surprised me. At the time, I didn’t know what principle it worked on, so I thought hard about it, damn it, there would be enough water for use when I see serious tanks on other machines. With regard to the tiny water tank, a big red dot deserves not to have to be snaped in and out, with a magnet cuppan in place.

I have no opinion about the squirt, that is, the shower head. According to the description, the head is medical grade, whatever that means. It sure is easy to put in place, doesn’t drip at the fit, doesn’t shoot the machine into our mouths, so it works the way it should.

So, I unpacked the machine, turned it on and off, and then quickly looked for a description of how to see what the three button-selectable modes mean. Then came the phone app, in which I was genuinely surprised by the large number of strength levels.

I was done with that too, it was possible to fill the tank and the first test. I wasn't brave. I sprayed the sink with the lowest strength, then my hand. Nothing extra, it wasn’t too strong, so I tried it on my back and forth dentures too. I was encouraged, I took the strength to level five.

Well, there were more surprises here. The first was the strength of the water as the mouth shower spat between the teeth. It’s not a joke, inside my dentures, on my tongue, I felt like it washes everything properly. However, the big surprise was not even that.

Everywhere in the recommender, it is written that the shower does not trigger brushing, it only complements it. So first a thorough brushing of teeth, then a mouth shower. That's what I did. Then approx. I was so surprised as I chased my first robotic vacuum cleaner through the otherwise clean apartment and collected it in between that I could barely poke it out of the dust container.

Well, that's how I went with the mouth shower somehow. After spitting water after the first use, the water was not free of impurities, to put it mildly. I don't know where the hell it was between my teeth, but the fact that brushing, which I thought was thorough so far, was just that thorough, was a lot of thought.

Well, and here comes the reason why water-saving operation is good. Not because of our wallet, in that sense, it wouldn’t matter if we run out of 150 milliliters or 1 deci of water. However, during use, water does not flow out of our mouths continuously, it is enough to spit out the collected liquid 1-2 times.

Summary

For now, I can’t tell if it will be good against tartar, as I wrote that was the primary goal when buying. However, I can already see that if the tartar gets smaller, but, at least once a day, I will use it before going to bed, because not only will my teeth feel clearer (number), but it is also striking to see how much residue is removed after brushing. the mouth shower.

I don't plan to use it with mouthwash yet, dr I'm probably going to give it a try anyway. Anyway, smart people write that it should be used diluted, i.e. sacc / approx. in use, two 70 milliliters of mouthwash will go away, which is much less than emi in a smooth rinse.

So, for now, I can say so many opinions. I don't even have an answer to the question I understood / didn't understand. It’s definitely not cheap stuff, so I recommend it to be good because otherwise I’ll be very angry. 🙂
