Micro-ATX ASUS board under Intel Core i7 CPU
Compacting ASUS ’high-end cards, the Republic of Gamers series will soon be enriched with another Intel Core i7-compatible product.
The DFI following the example of ASUS is also planning to launch an Intel Core i7 compatible board that, while micro-ATX-sized, is well-equipped. The Rampage II Gene PCB, which boosts the RoG family, has been packed with everything on the ground as much as possible: the presence of the Socket 1366, which receives Nehalems, goes without saying, the six memory slots receive DDR3 modules, the PCI 2.2 and PCIe x4 busses directly PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots in the environment bring NVIDA SLI and ATI CrossFireX technologies within reach.
The motherboard also received two gigabit Ethernet and a multi-channel X-Fi SupremeFX integrated audio device, defying its size. Relying on the ICH10R, the motherboard can support up to six SATA-IIs, two IDEs (one connector), and no less than twelve USB 2.0-connected devices. The motherboard Start and Reset buttons and the so-called TweakIT OC function, which can be configured from the keyboard, are for the convenience of the user.
The price and launch date of the ASUS Rampage II Gene is unknown, yet it is certain that it will be taken home for just over $ 200.
