You can get a fair price for the Nintendo Wii U.

However, this does not necessarily mean that the console will be overwhelmingly cheap.

There is serious interest in the new generation gaming console from the Japanese company Nintendo. Based on the technical indicators, the hardware performance is likely to move as the Xbox 360 level, with the special role going to the special tablet-powered game controller. Players are then obviously rightly interested in what price tag the console can get. Satoru Iwata, president of Nintendo, told a Japanese daily (Yomiuri Shimbun) that they wanted to launch the Wii Ut at a reasonable, fair price. He acknowledged that the 3DS was priced too high, but that mistake would not be made again.

Satoru Iwata's statement is encouraging, but according to previous reports, the production of the Nintendo Wii U is relatively expensive. The console itself can cost 130 dollars, while the innovative controller can cost 50 dollars. The camera and touch screen in the controller cost Nintendo 6 and 14 US greenbacks, respectively. In the Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper, an analyst calculated that the Nintendo Wii U would need to be sold for $375 to break even. The company obviously wants to sell the product at a profit, which is projected to be roughly $425. This can create an interesting situation, since the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 are significantly cheaper than this, but it is also possible that the analyst is wrong. Rumors from a few months ago were about a price tag of "only" $300, which would be a considerably friendlier amount, but still more expensive than the current generation of consoles. At Nintendo, they probably once again trust that the innovative controller and great gaming experience will carry the product.
