ASUS is working on a two-headed graphics controller

ASUS would combine the power of two Pitcairn inserts. This chip serves as service on the AMD Radeon HD 7870.

The company does not copy the solutions of the other partners, but works on its own idea. The second version of the ASUS ARES is also a dual GPU graphics card, but unlike its predecessor, it does not use the most powerful chip available, but the mid-range Pitcairn chip. This is not a problem at all, as the wiring of two Radeon HD 7870s also offers brutally high performance. In essence, ASUS cleverly recognized that there was a huge gap between the GeForce GTX 680 and GTX 690 that the Radeon HD 7990 could not fill either. With the smart positioning of the Ares 2, we probably won’t get close to fainting at the sight of consumption and the price tag, but the two 8-pin PCI Express connectors still assume a power requirement of around 300 watts.

Calculated with the Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition price tag, and after firing our magic ball, we came to the conclusion that the god of war could be ours after chewing down an amount of around $ 650-800.
