Scythe Kaze Server

Our next — and last — participant to be introduced already represents a much more serious category than Kaze Q - as its name shows. The Server, enlarged to 5,25″, already has digital control, and its output voltage range is wider (starts from 3,7 V). Basically, you can choose from three operating modes: automatic (auto), semi-automatic (semi-auto) and manual (manual). The latter is completely self-explanatory, while in auto mode we can define a temperature value to be reached, and the Server intelligently controls the attached air rotors (even separately, independently) in order to achieve this goal. In Auto mode, if the measured temperature falls below the specified temperature, the controller will stop all fans. However, we prefer the semi-automatic mode, since here we can set a minimum speed for all the fans, which the controller does not allow the air mixers to fall below even at -50 °C (and of course, as a result, it never switches them off). If there is a need to turn off the fans completely, this can also be done in manual mode by turning the knob all the way to "off".

The ingredients

It follows directly from the above that in addition to the four air agitator connections, we get four more temperature sensor diodes, based on the data of which the server's microprocessor decides how to control them. You can select between ° C and ° F by jumpering on the PCB and switching the (beep) alarm on and off in case of too high temperature or fan failure. As an extra function, we can also switch off our unit, in which case, of course, the air deflectors do not stop, they only operate without regulation.

The copy we received has the code name KS01-BK, that is, it is a competitor with a black "face"; more routine users may have already guessed that the model with a silver shade is called KS01-SL. A special note from the manufacturer is that we can also power our Server from a molex power connector with the help of a converter.
