Will “Fusion” instances work later this year?

AMD wants to ship the first specimens later this year.

 

AMD Fusion is a project where the CPU and GPU are merged. Many may think now that there is nothing new in this, as Intel has already stepped in. At AMD, however, the two members will not be separate, but will be coordinated within a chip, as opposed to Intel's solution, where they were in a case but separated, meaning that the real CPU + GPU integration is It will appear as a Fusion image.

Working “Fusion” instances later this year

The first generation of Fusion was named Llano and will be made with 32nm manufacturing technology. The graphics unit will be compatible with the DirectX 11 API. The official launch is scheduled for 2011, but AMD wants to ship the first samples to OEM partners later this year.

Intel's solution with this principle, Sandy Bridge, will also debut in 2011.
