Gossip: A super-FX chip is in the works!

Unconfirmed news is that AMD plans to release a superprocessor under the name “Centurion”. By now, it was quite clear that the company had designed its FX processors to achieve exceptionally high clock speeds. Unfortunately, this too has been little compared to Intel’s third-generation Core solutions, but the situation could improve in the future.

Rumor has it that AMD plans to release an extremely limited amount of processors available. The Vishera-based CPU, “Centurion,” is guaranteed to reach 5,0 GHz. There’s no information on what cooling and operating voltage this can bring together, but looking at the planned $ 795 price tag, it’s just a matter of detail.
