16-core Opterons are coming
About a year ago, Bulldozer architecture arrived in the server market. The 4200 and 6200 series were well received, their performance was good, especially in multitasking tasks.
After a good start, it is understandable that AMD wants to go further, so the arrival of new units based on the Piledriver architecture could be enveloped in advance. In the first step, we got information about the 6200 series, which will replace the 6300 series. The new CPUs claim AMD claims to use more power with more power, resulting in an average 24% improvement in performance and a 40% improvement in efficiency with the new processors.
