Nine renowned Intel engineers have been certified for AMD

The professionals who have been working mainly on the development of Itanium processors are now strengthening the AMD team.

Samuel Naffzinger and eight colleagues have been working for Intel since Hewlett Packard released Itanium Road in 2004. The team has played a major role in the development of McKinley and Montecito cores - these have been purchased in large batches by companies building high-performance servers since their inception.

Intel was presumably uncomfortably affected by the incident, as Samuel was the director of the Itanium division. Of course, the PR machinery is still in operation: Intel executives say that the development of server processors will not suffer.

The team will also strengthen the division of central units for servers in AMD's colors.
