Steve Jobs resigned: change of CEO at Apple
Steve Jobs resigned from Apple's position as president and CEO.
Apple’s board of directors has also officially announced the departure of Steve Jobs from the head of the company. He will be replaced by Tim Cook, who will have no novelty in running the apple company, as he ran the company during Jobs’s sick leave. Upon hearing the news, Apple shares began to fall.
Steve Jobs's resignation is not so unexpected, as we have heard rumors of a change of leadership since his cancer in 2004, which he then successfully defeated. There are still health reasons behind the resignation. Jobs has been on sick leave since January and, in his view, is no longer able to perform his duties properly, so the best solution in the current situation is to change management.
