Two more multimedia players from LC-Power

All that was left was some summary and a description of the purchase prices. The EH-35MP2 with a Hitachi 7K250 HDD produced 32,3 MB / s read and 25,7 MB write on a USB interface. These results are more than okay, frankly, very good compared to USB, so we absolutely can't complain about the speed of file transfer operations. (Plus, when using the 35MP2 as an external enclosure, there's no problem with handling the NTFS file system.) A small downside, however, is that the interior of the enclosure isn't ventilated, so you may have some trouble after a longer load with a hot-headed hard drive. This product is to be classified as an entry-level gadget, the interior has been shaped to the best of its knowledge with the simple ESS controller (integrated chip for HDD players), and the number of connectors on the back also matches this. So who is the EH-35MP2 recommended for? For all those who have a traditional CRT television, so on the one hand, they would not be able to take advantage of such an HDMI player, not least because the viewer cannot benefit from HD content due to the features of the TV. In other words, if you have a 72cm CRT TV, a significant amount of DivX and / or DVD content, and don't want to bother with discs all the time, the EH-35MP2 might come in handy, as there are plenty of such SDs on a larger hard drive. we can copy material (pay attention to the limitations of FAT32) and play it, so it can be easier and more convenient to watch movies - and of course our device can also function as an external USB portable housing.

The bigger brother, the LC-PRO-MPR35-HDMI, can do much more, but it is also much more expensive than the other type. As for file operations, we can provide similar good news as just now, as with the same hard drive, the player produced even faster readings of 32,5 MB/s and 26,5 MB/s writing. Unfortunately, the cooling deserves a black mark here as well: although there is a 3 cm fan inside the house, it does not remove the hot air from the vicinity of the HDD, but it is still better than nothing (?). The more serious knowledge also covers a more serious interior, the Realtek RTS5151 all-in-one card reader chip, the Genesys GL850A USB 2.0 interface and the Nanya RAMs are the "accessories" of the LC-PRO-MPR35-HDMI. The main board, which is hidden under the aluminum rib, begins to boil extremely hot during operation, although during the test operation we did not encounter any malfunctions during use, so there is not much reason to worry. This model can directly connect not only to a hard disk, but also to a network, memory cards and flash drives, and it is important that it is also compatible with NTFS for HDDs. In addition to playback, it is also capable of direct and timed recording, so it can even replace a DVD recorder. Unfortunately, as far as HD materials are concerned, due to the lack of MKV support, success is not yet complete, but the direction is there. The LC-PRO-MPR35-HDMI can be recommended for CRT, plasma or LCD TVs, but only those with "thin panels" can use the knowledge of HDMI. If appropriate, the product can replace not only the desktop DVD player, but also the DVD recorder thanks to its recording capabilities, the purchase — as in the case of the previous model — is a matter of price and liking.
