Two new portable machines from ASUS - the clamshell and the 15
Of course, the U50VG also came to our test table for a few measurements - let's take a look at these now:
Everest CPU Queen | 10710 |
Everest CPU PhotoWorxx | 8077 |
Everest FPU Julia | 4676 |
CineBench R10 - GPU | 2381 |
CineBench R10 - CPU / 2 × CPU | 2795/5206 |
WinRAR 3.71 | 815 kB / s |
3DMark06 (1366 × 768) | 1647 |
SuperPI 1M | 19 sec |
Of course, the usual Everest screen thefts can't be left out either:
As far as memory management is concerned, DDR800s ticking at 2 MHz and FSB at 266 MHz are making an impact. The raw performance of the hard drive is based on the 160 gigabyte unit in Seashell, however, the access time is 10 ms better - which is not to be overlooked.
Despite the bull-powered processor compared to Atoms, the loading of the operating system, which in this case is a 32-bit version of Vista, was around 1 minute (65-70 seconds).
The U50VG's CPU only warmed up to 75 ° C under load - which is almost 30 uniform deviations from the resting state - although the ambient air was 2-3 degrees lower than that of the Seashell (and of course the noise emission was also larger). The HDD also performed well here, with temperatures creeping from 37/38 to just 40 ° C.
