Teamwork at the highest level

Although we have also mentioned group work above, it is worth returning to it for a few words. By group work, we don’t just mean sharing letters to groups. The software can also help companies to be more efficient and to make better use of their resources by allocating the use of the meeting room (s) or even booking a company car. The number of possibilities can only be limited by our imagination, as we can easily schedule the use of any device, equipment or other resource.

In addition, of course, the usual functions are available, namely synchronizing calendar data, delegating your own calendar, automatically searching for contacts and reconciling busy data.

WebMail

Kerio Mail Server also includes a full-featured web-based mail interface that can be centrally parameterized and accessed by users anywhere. The WebMail interface is available in 16 languages, allowing users to receive and send messages, create their own custom address book, and use the built-in calendar-based organizer and scheduler features.

Virus protection and content filtering

We can protect the entire mail network from various software threats, with the help of the McAfee antivirus that can be purchased with KMS, but we can also use our existing antivirus application. Outgoing and incoming email, as well as HTTP and FTP traffic on the web, are scanned by the integrated McAfee antivirus. When used on a computer representing the zero entry point (this is typically the gateway where MailServer ™ is also running), only verified data can enter or leave the network. Supported software includes products from Grisoft, Symantec, Sophos, Case, Computer Associates, ALWIL Software, and Deerfield.

Archiving and virus scanning

KMS represents a whole arsenal of weapons against spam in correspondence, which causes the most headaches. The fight takes place on two fronts: on the one hand, MailServer users are protected by the built-in, constantly updated Bayesian spam filter database, SpamAssasin filter, and on the other hand, the server tries to filter out unwanted messages coming to the server. This eliminates unwanted mail at the entry point, reducing the load on the server and clients. The IP address of regular spammers is blacklisted, while messages from registered users are automatically marked as trusted, thus minimizing false rejections. The SpamAssasin filter can, of course, be taught, and messages marked as spam in Outlook, WebMail, or any other e-mail client will be marked as spam by the server and can be deleted automatically depending on the setting. Spam Repellent can provide protection against automated spammers.

Help with operation

The KMS Client Configuration Tools toolbar greatly simplifies installation and fine-tuning. For those with older, less-featured Exchange software, the Kerio Exchange Migration Tool helps, allowing you to migrate seamlessly from Exchange. An equally useful option is to migrate Open Directory content used on the Macintosh platform.

Kerio MailServer ™ administration interface

For a mail system, data security is essential, which includes an advanced archiving feature. In KMS, the administrator can back up the entire mail file or select certain types of messages to save. Backups can be restored in KMS after a possible data loss. Administrators can even search within archives, selecting important and less important messages.

In connection with the operation, it should not be forgotten that the software is available in 16 languages, including Hungarian, so installation, configuration and later use of the program is possible for those who do not speak any of the world languages.
