The Athlon 64 X2 family gets a new top model

A new dual-core processor numbered 6400+ may be coming soon.

When the 6000+ came out, we even knew it would be the latest K8-based Athlon 64 X2 processor. Well, due to the renewal of the Core 2 Duo family, the manufacturer has decided to launch an even faster chip, namely the Athlon 64 X2 6400+ processor. Routine AMD foxes can already guess that there have been no major changes compared to the previous top model, only the clock has been raised to 3,2 GHz.

It will be replaced soon

According to some sources, the new proci performs 10 to 15 percent worse than the Intel C2D E6850 processor. This doesn’t seem like a very disastrous lag, but if you want to push in, don’t choose the 6400+.
Motherboard manufacturers have already received the first samples, but nothing is known about the date of release. What is certain is that the price of the Athlon 64 X2 6400+ will be around $ 220-248.
