Intel Pentium D 820 tuning

Legion Hardware staff was looking for the answer to what kind of performance can be squeezed out of the cheapest dual-core Intel processor.

As is well known, the Intel Pentium D 820 has a base range of 2,80 GHz. The site's editors were able to upgrade this up to 4,20 GHz. In addition to the processor, memory, which were Corsair PC6400 (DDR2-900) modules running on a CAS4-4-4-10 timer, was also an important participant in the test.

The tests did not come as a surprise, they only confirmed what we have experienced so far, i.e. that the time for double core has not yet arrived in software. Anyone who is planning on a longer term (maybe working on a machine) and now wants to buy new hardware should invest in such a processor, but we are now even better at gaming with a traditional single-core solution.
