The ready-to-use Media Mate is connected to the computer using the supplied USB cable (a 230 V adapter is also required for a USB connection). Since it is a device whose main profile is image, music and movie playback, we have placed some of all three on it. We used a photo taken by a 2 megapixel Canon machine as a music word Avril Lavigne - Girlfriend and David Guetta - The world what's up mp3 files were provided. Once everything is in place with software, the fruit of the work invested, that is, fun, can come. However, none of the players will read from our minds what we want to watch (or listen to), so we need to select the folder that contains the media or, if our hard drive is divided into several parts, the partition as well.

This green menu style also prevails when viewing pictures or listening to music. For a photo album, Media Mate traditionally lists content in the form of small thumbnails, so you can easily navigate without having to choose full-screen view to see the content of the image. In a slide show, however, it is essential that the work covers almost all the pixels of our display.

While listening to music, the fun is a bit more boring, above the list that appears after loading, only one counter informs you where exactly the song you are listening to is. For video files, in addition to the name, we also provide information about the size and encoding type.

Let's go to the cinema!

The film started and ran smoothly, but we are forced to note some negative experiences. First, at the start of playback (and a few scattered afterwards), the video slowed down a bit as if it were stuttering. We did not encounter such a problem with computer playback or the larger model, so we suspect that the Hitachi hard drive was not sympathetic to Media Mate because it was also regularly reflected in the menu. The other problem, however, was certainly not due to the HDD, as the player did not want to display the subtitle for the episode, we formatted the partition on either FAT32 or NTFS file system. The larger model (which will be up and running soon) carried it with both file systems and the PC without any problems. We received an answer to our question from the domestic distributor that the problem will soon be fixed in the form of a new firmware.
