The MP400AVR MultiPlayer is a model representing a higher category than the Media Mate. It is important to point out that in this case we can talk not only about a media player, but practically also about a file server, we will see later why we say this. The housing also accepts 3,5" hard drives, but its size is much larger (so it can only be used lying down), and the HDD can not be connected in the usual way, but even more simply, because the MP400AVR has a "rack system". This means that it is enough to screw the hard drive into the removable frame, then it can be easily slid into place and is practically ready for use. We had no problems with the packaging here either, the cardboard box is sufficiently informative and provides adequate security during transport.

The house is large in size, massive in effect, and has no problem with the design either. In this case, too, the black-silver color combination dominates, the latter practically determining the style of the front panel. The frame of the housing is metal, only the material of the two side walls is plastic, but they also do not look vulnerable.

Let's move on to the front panel and its controls. On the left side of the glitter panel is the four-way controller, in the middle is "OK" key. Slightly to the right of it are four more buttons that are essential for control: return, stop, copy, power. The card reader (with two slots) is placed on the right edge, the available formats are given in the specification table, the list is very long. The back cover is not disappointing either, we can find plenty of connectors on it. We are used to having USB 2.0, component and AV plugs, but there are also HDMI, digital coaxial output, RJ-45 (LAN) and an additional USB that can be used to connect an external device (flash drive, external hard drive, WLAN ).

We have an even easier thing to do here with the assembly, as there is no need to unscrew and pull out the complete inner part, the special frame is used for this purpose. Pull it out of the device, then screw the hard drive into it, and then gently push it back into place without forcing it. That's basically the action.
