Introduction, that is, what a massage gun is good for

While massage guns really embarked on their conquest journey last year, the “weapon” is no longer a new invention. According to information available on the Internet, the first device was developed in 2008 by a chiropractor in Los Angeles.

A man named Jason Werseland embarked on the creation of the therapeutic device because he suffered a motor accident and the resulting disc herniation and back pain made his life difficult.

The said gentleman did not really invent the Spanish flour, because there have long been massage therapies that produce the desired effect not by massaging but by tapping. During a treatment called tapotement, it works by hand, without any aids.

Massage guns are used for several reasons. To warm up before sports and to reduce muscle fever after sports. Experience has also shown that DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) is an effective solution.

In most places, the latter effect is highlighted, where the gun really produces breakthrough results. DOMS is essentially similar to a muscle fever, but much more painful, and often with a healing time that can take up to weeks.

Current research has not even been able to find out what is causing it up to a hundred strands of blue. It is sure to appear 3-4 days after exercise, and its symptoms include severe muscle pain, depression, fever, pain, and limited movement due to pain and muscle swelling.

Healing can take up to a week to 10 days, at least if you don’t use a massage gun, for example.

What makes a massage gun work?

The pistols thus use so-called percussion or vibration therapy. The gun head swings back and forth, causing a rapid pressure change in the muscles.

Vibration therapy does not immediately eliminate muscle pain, but increases blood flow to a given muscle area, which can reduce inflammation, eliminate muscle nodules and, in the case of intense exercise, also speed up the healing of muscle injuries.

Thus, percussion therapy is effective not only after sports, but also before it, as it warms up the muscles that we use during a given sport.

There are plenty of noname “pistols” available on the market, some of them very cheap, but there are also many tens of thousands of forints. Xiaomi's solution currently costs the most on the product finder, so they ask for 62 thousand forints, while the cheapest structure costs 10 thousand forints.

Of course, as in most cases, the more usable pieces can be bought somewhere halfway, around 25-30 thousand forints.

But what makes a massage gun good or bad? Of course due to the materials and technologies used. The differences are the power and type of motor, the amount of head oscillation, amplitude, battery capacity, size, weight and number of accessories.

A Blitzwolf BW-FAS1 it is one of the better massage weapons in all respects, but based on its price we can rather fit it at the bottom of the middle category. That was the reason I decided to give it a try.

The first is a spherical head that is used to massage larger areas of muscle. The second is a bullet-shaped head that can be used in smaller areas, such as the muscles of the palm, but can also be used to target other muscles more precisely. The third flat massage head is used for muscle relaxation and the last U-shape can be used to massage the neck, spine or Achilles tendon.

Why did I buy it?

Although I could say that I am active in sports, that would not be true. On the other hand, I sit in front of the computer a lot, which often causes my back and shoulder muscles to line up. After a long day, I can hardly move.

I’ve tried cheaper massagers, but so far nothing has worked. I already had it in my hand, true only in store cheap massage gun, but to put it mildly, so it didn’t convince me. Plastic parts, crappy joints, weak engine, and I could even list, the point is, I didn’t have much confidence in it.

I love Blitzwolf products. True, it’s not the top, but they don’t usually give bad things, the goods are good, and they’re miles better than noname structures, be it a lamp, a camera, or anything else.

What are my experiences?

The first is that the structure appears to be extremely durable. With the exception of the massage heads, we find metal cover everywhere. He has a good grip, he has a good place to focus. The battery is at the bottom for the longer part and the engine is at the top for the shorter part.

As I have already written, the strength can be adjusted in four steps. To switch on and off, press and hold the button at the bottom. When switching on, wait until the four LEDs light up in a row and go out in a row when switching off.

The speed can also be adjusted with this button. Press briefly to jump up, then down, and the gear is indicated by the LEDs.

For now, I can’t tell if what’s written for battery life is true, because it came barely two weeks ago and I don’t use it every day, but I haven’t had to charge it yet.

As I wrote above, for me, the main goal was to eliminate muscle stiffness due to sedentary work. Because of its size and good grip, I can easily massage my back all the way, most notably the trapezoidal muscle above my shoulder blade, its upper part is the hood muscle, the front of the shoulder and the muscles of the upper arm are the areas where I use it.

After a whole day of work, it takes me about 10 minutes to relax my muscles. I use the larger, spherical head for this, because when massaging my back, I can't always keep the machine exactly perpendicular to the muscle, but with the help of the sphere, it still has the necessary effect.

I wrote above that those who are active in sports can also use it for warm-up and post-workout muscle rehabilitation. I can’t confirm that it’s really good for these (of course, the net is full of experiences in this direction), but you can feel that after a few minutes, a feeling of warmth starts, indicating that blood flow is really getting stronger in that area.

Closing Remarks

Perhaps it would have been better if the Blitzwolf massage gun had been introduced by an active athlete, as he would probably have been able to share a lot more experience.

To be sure, there are plenty of articles on the net dealing with the subject, plenty of masseurs and chiropractors using a similar tool, presumably not by accident. In fact, it has only become fashionable in the last 1-2 years, but from what was written at the beginning of the article, it seems that their use dates back a good decade, and traditional shock therapy treatments are much older.

What is certain is that the Blitzwolf BW-FAS1 really good stuff. Finally a quality but not noname massage gun that can be obtained relatively cheaply. As I wrote, there is cheaper than that, the question is whether we should put our vote in favor of the cheapest pieces. I’m not used to it, but the decision is ultimately yours.
