Let’s continue the line with media players, with Media Mate blessed with smaller, more modest abilities. The jaw, mainly made of metal, can traditionally be fitted with a 3,5 ″ SATA hard drive, which serves as the home of our digital materials. However, let’s not run ahead, let’s start with the looks! The product came to us in a thick cardboard box, the packaging is fine, the inside is sufficiently protected from external influences, the design is simple and at the same time attractive. We then freed the components from their inner bondage and then arranged them side by side, so the sight provides a little evaluation clue as to what we got for our money.

Well, the list is complete with that, we can't have a feeling of lack, we don't get more or less than we might need. Next, let's take a closer look at the Media Mate house! The idea is based on the usual "brick" design, the box can be used lying down or standing up using the included stand. In terms of colors, black and gray are dominant. The front panel is not overcomplicated, in the upper segment we find the infrared receiver together with the two status indicator LEDs (HDD activity, active operation), and a little further down there is a six-function "stick steering wheel". In addition to the four directions (up, down, left, right), when pressing inward, the play and pause options become available. There are at least two — no less important — buttons, these are the menu and power on.
Let’s move on to another important area, the back cover, as its offering fundamentally determines the usability of the device. Well, since the Media Mate isn’t an expensive model, don’t expect a sea of connectors. The connection of USB 2.0 and the adapter responsible for the power supply is necessarily present, and the operation of the fan can also be switched on or off. One of the component, D-Sub and AV (audio + video) outputs can be used to provide entertainment signals, depending on which display we have and, of course, which one we prefer.
Finally, there was nothing left but commissioning. As with many similar players, disassembling or assembling Media Mate is not a vicious task. All you have to do is remove the four screws on the back panel, after which the inner frame can be pulled out of the frame by the front panel. The next step is to repair the SATA hard drive, secure with 3-4 screws, then you can go all back in place and we’re done! The fun can come, that is, uploading and viewing content to our player…
