Computex: plenty of ASUS ROG news on the horizon

Computex: plenty of ASUS ROG news on the horizonRepublic of Gamers products announced for 2011 include motherboards, graphics cards, notebooks and accessories.

ASUS has announced a range of new products for high-performance gaming PCs that will further expand the company’s “Republic of Gamers” (ROG) range. Launched five years ago, the ROG program focuses on the development of exceptionally high-performance hardware.

“ROG’s philosophy is based on category-leading performance, innovative user controls and a player-focused design,” said Jackie Hsu, ASUS Vice President and Global Sales CEO. The products announced today not only fully implement these principles, but also introduce a number of new elements of innovation that take the performance of high-end PCs to even sharper heights.

Designed for heavy-duty gamers who want to play anywhere and want to play, the G74Sx notebook is equipped with a Sandy Bridge-based Intel® Core ™ processor and an NVIDIA® GTX 560M graphics card for outstanding performance. For users who require similar features in desktop form, the new CG68 Gaming System features a Z8565 chipset motherboard, a stealth hunter-like housing and a range of easy-to-use overdrive features.

Also unveiled are three new ROG motherboards built on the latest Intel® and AMD chipsets. Both the Maximus IV GENE-Z and Maximus IV Extreme-Z with the new Intel® Z68 PCH provide unparalleled gaming and overdrive features, and the Crosshair V Formula is the first motherboard based on the AMD 990FX to support both Tri -SLI ™ and CrossFireX ™ and has a graphical UEFI BIOS. Two new NVIDIA® GTX 580-based graphics cards, the MATRIX GTX580 and MARS II, further expand the ROG range.

Recognizing the fact that a good gaming experience doesn’t just depend on what’s inside the PC, ROG now offers new peripherals as well. The family's first addition is the active noise-canceling Vulcan ANC headset microphone, which provides a reliable, accurate audio experience in any gaming environment. By connecting great ROG hardware to the ASUS 27-inch, game-designed 278D monitor designed specifically for gaming, gamers can almost literally immerse themselves in the latest gaming enjoyment.

Zane Ball, CEO of Intel Desktops, said: “We have had tremendous success in the gaming market and it is a great pleasure for us that a manufacturer like ASUS is approaching this with such commitment. Brands like ROG embody the best practices for gaming and PC hardware overdrive. Two new motherboards and a desktop based on the Intel Z68, announced today, offer truly exciting performance tuning options. ”

Over the past five years, ROG products have received awards in a row from recognized industrial design bodies such as iF Design, Red Dot or Good Design, and have earned a serious reputation among PC users around the world. More than 1200 media awards demonstrate the quality and innovation provided by ROG, as well as the determination with which the company aims to become a leader in high-performance PCs.

“It is always a pleasure to put the most innovative and powerful solutions in the hands of users. This enthusiasm guides the ROG team through research and development, which motivates us to come up with ideas that go well beyond expectations, ”says Jackie Hsu.

ROG G74Sx Notebook for 3D gamers

The G74Sx 3D is a high-performance notebook for gamers who don’t want to drag an entire PC to gaming events or don’t have enough space to build a complete desktop system. The G74Sw 3D shows the angular, geometric design of a stealth fighter and, thanks to the latest second-generation quad-core Intel® Core ™ i5 and i7 processors, the power goes hand in hand. The NVIDIA® GTX 560M graphics card delivers stunningly fast frame rate and extreme detail on the 17-inch Full HD screen, even in native resolution, while NVIDIA® 3D Vision enriches games and movies.

or

As powerful as it is, the G74Sx 3D can always stay cool with an innovative cooling solution in which two fans flow cold air from the front panel to leave through the two outlets. The player-friendly keyboard lends some extra benefits to games as well. The metal base does not bend, the backlit keys ensure a hit even in dim lighting. Large cursor control buttons located away from the main keyboard minimize the possibility of vests during action.

ROG Crosshair V Formula series motherboard

Equipped with the AMD 990FX chipset, the Crosshair V Formula is not the first motherboard with AM3 + CPU support, but the first of the AMD motherboards to support both triple NVDIA® SLI ™ and AMD CrossFireX ™ and comes with a UEFI BIOS. It is also equipped with the standard range of standard ROG overdrive devices, and the SupremeFX X-Fi 2 on the card provides an extremely high quality sound experience. The LAN connection provided by Intel® Ethernet and GameFirst technology is fast enough to keep up with modern games while using the Internet to perform other online tasks.

XONAR ™ audio technology delivers great sound quality, while the built-in headphone amplifier and adjustable impedance make it the perfect tool to surprise your opponents. Crosshair V Formula / Thunderbolt also includes the award-winning Bigfoot Networks ™ Killer ™ E2100 network management platform, which, using Advanced Stream Detect ™ technology, enables you to take advantage of online gaming and HD video and audio streaming traffic on your network. to achieve optimal performance, even if they take place simultaneously. The Crosshair V Formula motherboard is now available, with the Crosshair V Formula / ThunderBolt coming to stores in late June.

ROG Maximus IV Extreme-Z and ROG Maximus IV GENE-Z motherboard

Although both are based on the new Intel® Z68 chipset, the ROG Maximus IV Extreme-Z and the ROG Maximus IV GENE-Z are two completely different approaches to high-performance motherboards. The Maximus IV Extreme-Z continues the long line of ROG motherboards that make dreamers of overdrive come true. The Maximus IV GENE-Z changes the recipe for successful ROG motherboards by shrinking the end result to a microATX size, which makes the end result appealing to speed moderators as well as moderators.

or

Simultaneous NVIDIA® SLI ™ and AMD CrossFireX ™ support offers exceptional flexibility for applications that use 3D graphics, but that doesn't mean the Intel® Z68 chipset's built-in graphics processing capabilities are wasted! Full support for the Lucid® Virtu ™ graphics virtualization subsystem means that the Maximus IV GENE-Z can seamlessly switch between a standalone and integrated graphics device on the fly, depending on the needs of the application, while SupremeFX X-Fi 2 audio and Intel® Ethernet / GameFirst takes care of additional tasks.
