Parade of Chieftek houses in the heat

We have reached the tiniest cottage in our article. Interestingly, we didn’t find it on the Chieftek side, so we had to weigh it. According to this, it is 29- centimeters high, 24- centimeters high and 13,5 centimeters wide. From this it is already suspected that only very small motherboards can be installed, by default the Mini ITX boards are accepted. The power supply is not a standard size either, more precisely, we are dealing with a standard that is not common with desktop computers. The small power supply is only 180 watts, but that, too, should be enough for a machine built on an Atom or Ion platform.

There is not much to tell from the outside of the house. The front is simple, just find the slot for the optical unit tray, the power and reset buttons, and the standard indicators. The audio and USB connectors are hidden behind a small door at the top of the front panel.

The pictures of the house will tell a lot, but there are two things worth noting. One is that it is not necessary to buy a notebook optical unit for it, the standard desktop version, i.e. 5,25 inches drives can be installed. This does not seem to be an important thing though, as on the one hand the choice is greater, on the other hand we come out cheaper if we build a machine. The other important thing is the issue of cooling. Although not much space is available, two 6-centimeter vents on the back have been squeezed, which can come in handy on hot days like this one.
