New features and technologies include online provisioning. The bottom line is that different systems and subsystems use a common resource base that automatically provides them with the currently required disk capacity, thus improving resource utilization and availability. BS2000 / OSD V7.0 also provides dynamic I / O load balancing for Fiber Channel disks and I / O priority control for tasks to reduce response time and improve system efficiency. The new troubleshooting features locate problems in the SAN during operation and identify their root causes.

Following the continuous development of BS2000 / OSD business servers, Fujitsu Siemens Computers will launch two new CMOS-based S models in the top performance category in the second quarter of 2007. These systems offer much higher processing power than their predecessors. The introduction of new models of the SX family is also expected in mid-2007. The new servers are based on the latest Fujitsu Advanced Product Line (APL) technology and consistently carry forward the highly successful concept of flexible partitioning. In addition, Fujitsu Siemens Computers plans to port the BS2008 / OSD to PRIMEQUEST (the open standard IA64 platform) in 2000.
